Interactive Sales Aid

iPad-based pharmaceutical presentations that enable sales teams to communicate complex medical information to healthcare professionals with accuracy and clarity.

Interactive Sales Aid

Interactive Sales Aids (ISAs) are iPad-based applications that pharmaceutical companies use to help sales teams communicate with doctors and patients. These tools contain the most current information and visuals about medical conditions and drug usage, making accuracy critically important.

This project faced significant struggles with file fidelity and accuracy management. Every page was being built multiple times in Photoshop, creating mass confusion between creative, development, and medical legal review teams. Global updates were frequently missed, pages weren't built to specifications, and constant conflicts arose between teams.

The production studio was brought in to advise on the project process and identify workflow solutions. As one of the company's primary Figma experts, I worked with my team to leverage Figma's native library capabilities, creating examples that demonstrated how building ISAs within the platform would be the optimal solution. This approach enabled global components that could be universally reviewed, leveraged, and deployed across multiple pages within the same file for development use.

Our primary focus was showcasing global component usage to ensure consistency and fidelity across the entire brand. By nesting instance pages within child pages, we enabled global edits in one state to reflect automatically across all others, dramatically reducing required updates and changes.

The ISI (Important Safety Information) presented our biggest challenge as the most crucial and volatile section, requiring high-volume changes while maintaining consistency across all instances.

We demonstrated how Figma components could leverage properties to display different states and variants of the ISI while maintaining everything within a single component. This exercise proved overwhelmingly successful, leading to a comprehensive migration of pages and projects from the Photoshop/Sketch workflow into Figma, with production leading the initiative.
